Ghulam Abbas was a Pakistani writer, magazine editor, and translator. On 17th November 1909, he was born in Amritsar, British India. He has written several story books and poems for children especially, he mainly wrote fictional books. He was observant and picked the plot for his story from his surroundings. Then, he used to develop stories based on the plot, and it was so engaging that readers always found themselves lost in it. He used simple language for his writing, and his narration was direct and easy. At first, his story seems way simpler, but as you go ahead and read further, you'll find it always has a deep meaning hidden behind it. One of his most successful stories is Overcoat. When you first read it, it appears to be very simple, but the more you read it, the more layers it unfolds about society’s norms. His characters are not pre-planned, but he was a great observant.

He picked his characters from his environment and surroundings. He described his cast in the most honest ways because he didn't only want to put a good side of the character front. But, he also used to put forward the character's worst side. He never tried to idealize a character, he presented it exactly the way it should be. He was a magical writer who knew how to bring his imagination into reality. On 2 November 1982, he was born in Karachi, Pakistan. He wrote a book called Anandi. The book was later adapted into a Bollywood film. In 1983, the film Mandi got released.
