Malayalam Films That Were Successful Remakes

Malayalam films have a unique way of storytelling which is liked by the audience. Priyadarshan is one director who remade Malayalam ventures in Hindi and became successful. Some of the Malayalam films were remade in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada too. Here is a list of some Malayalam films which were successful in their remakes. 
Drishyam


This film was very much appreciated for its novelty. It became a great success in Mollywood and was remade in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Telugu. It was well received in the Tamil, Telugu and Kannada versions. 
Manichitrathazhu


This film has the credit of being remade in many languages including Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Bengali and Hindi. This film was very well received by the audience and Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai played the role of a person with split personality with perfection. The Tamil, Telugu and Kannada ventures were also successful.
Bodyguard


This film was remade in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi and became successful in these languages. In fact, the Hindi version Bodyguard, starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor had highest collection during 2011. But surprisingly this film was an average success only in Mollywood.
Ramji Rao Speaking


This film was high on comedy and is remembered even now. When it was remade in Hindi by Priyadarshan it became a great hit there too and the dialogues of Paresh Rawal gained much accolades.
Boeing Boeing


Priyadarshan helmed direction for this film and it is still regarded as an exemplary work of him. Its Hindi version Garam Masala garnered the Filmfare Award for Best Comic Actor for Akshay Kumar. It also set the cash registers ringing.
Thenmavun Kombathu


This was well-received in Malayalam and when remade in Tamil gained even more recognition. In fact, Muthu (the Tamil version) starring Superstar ' Rajinikanth' and Meena was a rage in Japan too.
Kireedam


This great film with ' Mohanlal' in the lead was remade in Tamil and Kannada with the same name and was successful in both the versions.
