penned the script and took up the directorial venture Shutter. The movie won much acclaim, both critical and commercial. Joy Mathew is now penning the script for the upcoming flick starring Mammootty. The movie is a directorial venture by Gireesh Damodar, who worked as associate director to Ranjith and Padmakumar. The movie has been given title Uncle, and the story revolves around a family, just like movie Shutter. The movie will highlight the social and political issues of Kerala.
In the movie, the family faces a strange situation. Mammootty will appear in a totally different role in the movie. About scripting the movie, Joy Mathew commented ‘The subject was small, but it grew in proportions in the course of time. Mammootty being part of the crew, the movie will be a full-fledged project. The subject cannot be revealed, said the director, but it is very much a socially relevant one. The subject turns out to be a strong one. The movie has a seventeen year old girl and her dad’s friend, uncle.
