Kunchacko Speaks About Udaya Pictures!

Hope you all have heard about the revival of “Udaya Pictures,” which is the family Production Company of Kunchacko Boban. The production company was set up in 1942. It was one among the leading production houses in Kerala. Many hit films were made by the banner, which turned numb after a few years, as it lost its interested people. Kunchacko Boban is all set to produce movies through his traditional banner. The first comeback film is “Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho” and Sidhartha Siva will direct it. Boban plays the lead role with ‘Sudheesh’s son in this flick. After hearing many scripts, Chacko chose this one, which he expected to be a good one for the comeback of Udaya Pictures. “Three years ago the situation was conducive to produce a film – factoring in everything including satellite rights. It was easy, but I didn’t want to do it with just any film, it had to make an impact,” says Boban. He says, “I spoke to my wife, Priya, and I wanted her to listen to the story.” As he wanted a moral support from his family, he asked his wife to shoulder him. “I was anxious before about how the script would be, what it would be etc. I am confident about the script; I have faith in the director. I am now enjoying being a producer – the location hunting, the auditions, the planning – I am enjoying the process. I want to make quality films worthy of the Udaya Pictures name.
