The Central Government has decided to bring changes in the compulsory passing scheme for the 6th and 7th standard students. The students were never failed until 7th standard. Now, the government has decided to recommend some changes in the system. If any student fails in 6th standard, he or she will be promoted to the next class only after passing the re-exam. If not, he or she will be studying the same course, one more year. Meanwhile, the Central Government has left the choice of passing the students of the 5th standard to the states. It is to be noted that these changes are suggested by 23 states in India.
