Chennai Floats In Torrential Rain!

As the rain showers didn’t stop for the past two days, ten districts announced a holiday to the schools. As the Atmospheric overlay cycle firmly continues near Sri Lanka, the Indian Meteorological Center announced that the heavy rain would last for three days. Due to this, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Villupuram, Nagapattinam, Pondicherry, Cuddalore, Karaikal, Thiruvarur and Thanjavur districts announced holiday to the schools. It is to be noted that Chennai, Kanchipuram and Chengalpet areas suffer a lot due to the torrential rain.  Heavy rainfall in Thiruvallur, Thiruthani and the surrounding areas for the past one day, affected the normal life. Kumbakonam, Thiruvidaimarudhur and Cuddalore are also suffering from the torrential rain. Following places in Chennai are affected due to heavy rain: 

Adayar, Guindi, T Nagar, Saidapet, Meenambakkam, Alwarpet, Teynampet, Mount Road, Pallavaram, Chrompet, Tambaram, Guduvanchery and Maraimalai Nagar. 

Important roads in Chennai had turned out to be the ponds. The vehicles get stuck on the roads and create traffic and the people are suffering a lot. In some of the low lying areas, rainwater entered into the houses. Chrompet Pallikaranai Bridge is flooded and hence the traffic in the area is blocked.
