Cine Fraternity To Meet The Chief Minister

The Tamil cine field is facing a new hassle in the form of local body tax levied by the Tamil Nadu government. The producer council has decided to go on a strike from Friday, and they have announced that there would be no releases from Friday. The Tamil cinema fraternity has decided to speak to the Chief Minister and speak regarding the issue. The Tamil Nadu government has levied a ten percent of Entertainment tax. Following the issue, the producer council decided not to release any new movie from Friday onwards. The council has announced that there will be no change in the decision till the tax is totally removed. It happens October 6th is Friday and seven movies including Vizhithiru and Uruthi Kol have not been released.

In a development, the theaters functioned as usual and theater proprietors announced that the theaters would function as usual. As per the announcement the theaters functioned as usual on October 6th. The movies which were released during the last few weeks will be screened. In Tamil Nadu, movies were screened in theaters other than INOX and PVR. Also, the internet booking for movies in Chennai, Trichy and Coimbatore are progressing as usual. Also, there is a plan to meet the Chief Minister. The cine associations have decided to meet the Chief Minister and discuss with him.
