Dear Thiru Sitharamaiahji

Vanakkam

I am in receipt of your letter CM/32/0SG/2017 dated31.7.2017 and congratulate you for having conducted a historic conference with the honest intention of “Quest for Equity”. I  have gone through the “Bengaluru Declaration”  adopted from the outcome of  “Dr. B.R.Ambedkar International Conference” held between 21 and 23rdJuly 2017  and I feel it is the need of the hour that all the States in India adopt the ideals of Dr B.R.Ambedkar in true letter and spirit and strive unfailingly to uphold the basic structures of the Constitution to respect “Unity in Diversity” and to reinforce the strong pillars of National Integration further!

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is the party for social justice and equity to the SC/ST/OBC, Women and Minorities in India. To achieve these objectives, My leader Dr Kalaignar enacted number of legislations which conferred equity and social security. Law of equal property rights for Women, Reservation in Government appointments for women and Reservation in Government employment for Minorities are some of the classic  administrative actions by our leader to govern the welfare of the depressed and oppressed people of India.  Samathuvapuram- a concept of housing accommodation for all communities under one roof is the idea of Dr Kalaignar and he successfully constructed around 150 Samathuvapurams in the State of Tamilnadu to maintain communal harmony.  DMK party always stands for the freedoms guaranteed under the Fundamental Rights of the Constitution of India dedicated to this nation by Babasaheb Dr B.R. Ambedkar and whenever there is an attempt to encroach the democratic and Constitutional rights of the people, it is the DMK which fought vociferously  and protested to protect the rights enshrined in the Constitution.

Hence I wish to inform that some of the salient recommendations in “Bengaluru Declaration” were implemented by the DMK govt in Tamilnadu as a mark of  great respect and honour both to the  visions of Thanthai Periar, the greatest social reformer and self respect movement leader of our Century old Dravidian Movement  and to the  equity principles of  Babasaheb Dr B.R. Ambedkar- the architect of the constitution of India.

I will happily ensure proper and prominent coverage for “Declarations for Equity” in our party organ Murasoli - which is now celebrating its 75thanniversary as the official organ of the DMK.

Yours Sincerely,

 (M.K. STALIN)

To

Thiru. Siddaramaiah
