Due to some controversies raised, the title had been changed to Nungambakkam. It is heard that Viduthalai Siruthaigal Party had filed a case to ban the film as it degrades Dalit. The filmmakers had decided to go on for fasting protest till their side explanations are heard. They arranged a press meet and released a press note. Here is the press note:
