Shankar’s much hyped and much awaited sequel to Endhiran is now being called 2.0 and shooting for the film started on December 17th in Chennai. The 1st day, the 1st shoot had quite a lot going on in the sets. Contrary to rumours that the movie’s shooting began with a song sequence, there was nothing of the sort. Shooting started with Dr Vaseegaran, played by Rajinikanth, in a laboratory. There was a lot of interesting robotic equipment lying around.
There were 4-5 dwarves on the sets, and they appeared along with Superstar Rajinikanth. They were playing lab assistants and would provide the comedy element to the film. There were different models of robots on the set.

appeared on the sets at about seven p.m., chatted with Shankar and Rajini for an hour and left. Akshay is the villain of the film, but he had no scenes to shoot on the first day. He is to fly down to Chennai soon. AR Rahman also paid a visit in the evening and chatted briefly with the team.
A month-long schedule for 2.0 will take place in Chennai. Diretor Muthuraj and cinematographer
