Commissioner George was supposed to appear before the court for the defamation suits filed against him. But, he didn’t appear before the judge, instead appealed further and got the exemption. The judge questioned the public prosecutor, “If George couldn’t appear on the said date, then why does he nod yes to the court?” “If this continues further, then the court could order him to appear in the contempt case,” said the judge. The judge also said, “Except George, every other higher official are appearing before the court and each of you should remember that you are all getting the salary from the tax paid by the public.” The judge also said that it is hard for the court to trust the public prosecutors too. Later, PP Venkatamani apologized to the court and assured that the commissioner would appear on 27th March.
