Meanwhile, the Hindu Makkal Katchi protested against the film and released a statement. The Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath announced that if the Mersal team didn’t delete the controversial scenes from the film, then they would organize a huge protest on 29^th October in front of the theaters that screen Mersal. He also invited the cadres of Hindu Makkal Katchi. Meanwhile, some of the doctors are also against the film for its Medical Fraud message. However, people have accepted the film, as it has some valuable contents.
