,” the late CM of Tamilnadu was announced dead on 5th September 2016. Even after two years of her death, her death mystery is left unexplained and Arumugasamy Commission handles the case. The TN government planned to make the Poes Garden Residence of Jayalalithaa as her memorial house. But, the Income Tax Department has frozen Jayalalithaa’s properties, as she had to pay Rs 10 crore as the IT. The asset list includes the Poes Garden House too.
The IT Department questioned the government about the payment of the pending IT. Who will pay the tax? The Madras High Court ordered the Government Prosecutor to reply within two weeks in this regard.
