Ilayathalapathy Vijay commands a tremendous opening in Kerala just as he does in his home state Tamil Nadu. His recent films like Thuppakki, Jilla and Kathi are testimony to this fact. The Chimbudevan directed mega budget fantasy film Puli will be released in over 200 screens all over Kerala.
The only Vijay starrer which did better in Kerala with 207 screens is Jilla which also had the Malayalam superstar Mohan Lal in a lead role. The other Tamil films which did better than 200 screens in Kerala are superstar Rajinikanth’s Lingaa and the Shankar directed blockbuster I.
