Cauvery issue had been going on for the past six decades. Although it seems to get solved in a situation, some political changes didn’t make the issue to be solved. On 16th February, the Supreme Court ordered the Central Government to constitute the Cauvery Management Board. But, after a long delay, the Central Government constituted it, not as the Management Board but in the name Cauvery Management Authority. After the central government passed the Cauvery management authority scheme in the Gazette, it became active. Later, it was announced that it is the duty of Karnataka and Tamilnadu governments to appoint their representatives. Now, Tamilnadu has appointed the representative for the Cauvery Management Authority. It is SK Prabhakar, the Chief Secretary of Tamilnadu Public Works Department. R Senthilkumar has been appointed as the Cauvery Regulatory Board member.
