From the Jallikkattu protest, which created a world history, Marina has been seen as a holy beach that had the unity. Following the Jallikkattu protest, many people tried to protest in Marina, which was not allowed by the TN Government. Recently, Traffic Ramaswami, the social activist, filed a petition in Madras High Court to allow him to protest near Mahatma Gandhi statue in Marina. During the case hearing, Traffic Ramaswami fainted and is now getting treatment from a private hospital. The TN Government filed a petition in reply to Ramaswami’s petition stating that Marina is not a place to protest and it is a protected area.
