The latest news is that a producer named Rajendran filed a case against Mersal team. He stated that he had registered the title in the Producers Council, some years ago. Rajendran says that he has registered the title “Mersalayiten” with the Producers Council and requested the court to stop Mersal team from using his title. Now, the court ordered that the Mersal team not to use the title until 3^rd October. This came as a big shock to the Mersal team. Mersal is the 100^th production venture of Thenandal Studio Limited.
