He was offered the role of the younger brother to Superstar Rajnikanth, who was the lead hero. Mammooty had suggested his name to Maniratnam, who approached the actor deeming him fit for the role.
Unfortunately, he had to reject as he was already shooting for other films and had a packed schedule.
