Recently, it was announced that Isha Yoga Foundation would be celebrating the Maha Shivaratri in the foothills of Wellington (Velliangiri). It is heard that they will be celebrating the festival from 21st February to 25th February. A case has been filed to stop the celebration, which has been planned in the forest area. Now, the green tribunal issues notice to the Isha Yoga Foundation regarding the Shivaratri Festival celebration at the foothills. Vetriselvan, an advocate, filed a case against Isha Foundation stating that the celebration in the foothills will affect the wildlife. The case has been handled by the bench that has SP Jothini, the judiciary member of the tribunal and PS Rao, the committee member. Besides this, the pollution control board, Tamilnadu Forest Department and Coimbatore Collector Office are also requested to reply in this regard within 27th February.
