When the Cauvery issue had been going on and the central government delayed setting up the Cauvery Management Authority, a huge controversy arose that they did it purposely. Finally, the Cauvery Management Authority was constituted after several months delay from the Supreme Court’s verdict. Yet, the Karnataka government didn’t open the water for Tamilnadu. But, nature’s decision seems to be different and Karnataka has been receiving heavy rain showers this season. So, the excess water had been opened and the water would reach the Mettur Dam soon. Karnataka CM,
HD Kumaraswamy
stated that he had no qualms in sharing the water with Tamilnadu this time, as the rain favored two states. What will happen when Karnataka didn’t receive enough rainfall next year? We have to wait and watch!
