" and assured the assistance of Rs. 1000 Crores to rescue the rain-affected Tamilnadu. Already the central government has announced Rs. 940 Crores assistance, last week. The Tamilnadu CM has requested the PM for an assistance of Rs. 5000 Crores. Nearly 270 people died in Chennai, due to the rain. The devastating rain made many people lose their homes and the essentials. Rail transport and road transport has just started, and the Airport will remain closed till December 6th. As of now, there are no rains, but some parts of the city are still flooded. But, the rescue operations are in a full swing with Army, Navy and Disaster management team.
