Even after release the movie is encountering trouble. The Tamil Nadu Producer Council and South Indian Film Artistes association have released a report which supports the movie Mersal. In the statement, the producer council said as follows. It is known that there are innumerous hassles surrounding the movie Mersal. The controversies have gone to the national level. When a movie emerges as an imagination, the disclaimer for the movie is put. The Censor Board officials appointed by the Central Government give a certificate such that there is no hassle to anybody. We release the movie based on the certificate alone. It has been known to the people that it is difficult to obtain the certificate. Crossing so many hassles, a huge investment into the movie has been put in.

There is hard work put in by actors and the technicians into the movie. Even after obtaining the censor, if a scene in the movie has to be removed, it is against democracy. A number of political parties force to censor the movie again. This would set a wrong example to everybody. The scenes in the movie Mersal are being criticized by the media, internet, and social networking sites. There is the liberty of expression to them and cinema people too have the freedom. The movie Mersal has been censored. No scene in the movie should be removed further. Such issues would magnify in the future, said the press release.
