He has conveyed his concern on the impact upon the environment which arises due to the dumping of the ash waste by power plants, and also he warned of the flood that could occur in North Chennai. Kamal Haasan made a number of tweets. Kamal Haasan conveyed that the Vallur Thermal Plant and the North Chennai Thermal plant resort to the dumping of the waste in the nearby river. Even the usual rains would bring about flood in North Chennai, said Kamal Haasan. Also, the versatile actor added that the government should emerge with a lasting solution to the problem. Also, Kamal Haasan forwarded a warning that it would be dangerous for Chennai if the Egmore Creek is not taken care of.
Also, he made an accusation that the government did not consider the issue when environmentalists considered the issue. Adding up the comments, Kamal Haasan said that Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum have constructed their facilities in the river. Also, the actor mentioned that he is coming to know about attempts to take up 1000 acres under the pretext of expansion in the vicinity of Kamarajar port in Ennore.
