SBI To Reconsider The Fine Charged On Minimum Balance!

SBI, the top public sector bank of India announced that the customers of Metro Cities, Cities, suburban and villages should maintain a minimum balance of Rs. 5,000, 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 respectively. If these minimum balances are not maintained, the customers will be charged with a fine amount of Rs. 100/ Rs. 75 / Rs. 50 as per the balance. This system will be followed from 1st April, announced SBI. Earlier in 2012, the bank brought a similar regulation, but it canceled the rule, later. So, there are chances of canceling the new rule. Following the opposition to the rule by SBI, it might reconsider the rule, say the financial experts. Arundhati Bhattacharya, the Chairman of SBI, says that they haven’t yet received any information regarding the cancellation of the new rule from the Central Government.
