.” Sivaji fans in Trichy designed a statue of Sivaji in Palakarai Roundana in 2010. The statue, which was made at the cost of Rs. 35 lakhs, was not opened for the past seven years, despite the heavy attempt to unveil the statue. As the covers on the statue were worn out, a part of the statue was visible. Today at 4:30 AM, Sivaji fan club members came together under the leadership of Srinivasan and Congress party’s agricultural wing secretary Murali and removed the covers and garlanded the statue. After seeing this, many other people from various parties garlanded the statue. Sivaji fans are happy, as the statue had been opened after seven years. However, the persons, who led the fans and opened the statue were taken to the police station for inquiry.
