When Indian fishermen from Rameshwaram were fishing in the Indian maritime boundary, the Sri Lankan navy attacked them. In the crossfire, an Indian fisherman named Britso, aged 21 was killed. This attack happened near Katchatheevu. While they were fishing in the limit, what is the need for the Sri Lankan navy to shoot them, questions the fishermen. Many fishermen are injured and all of them are returning now. At present, the mortal remains of the dead fisherman Britso, who belongs to Thangachimadam had been kept in Rameshwaram Government Hospital. A crew of 400 fishermen ventured for fishing, yesterday. The fishermen at Rameshwaram fishing community got the information that a firing had been happening in the sea around 10 PM, which made everyone turn pale. May the poor soul, Britso rest in peace!
