Thoothukudi people are protesting against the Sterlite factory that releases harmful substances and cause health hazards to the people. For the past hundred days, they have been protesting against this and the government seems to have ordered the gunfire against the public and the police killed 12 people.
Thoothukudi Anna Nagar area is in a tensed state. It is heard that the protesters have thrown the petrol bomb against the police. It increased the tension.
Complete Shutdown in Tamilnadu: Following the unruly attack on the Thoothukudi public, who protested against the harmful Sterlite factory, the Tamilnadu Traders Union leader Vellaiyan announced a complete shutdown tomorrow to condemn the Tamilnadu Government.
Girija Vaidyanathan, the Tamilnadu Chief Secretary requested the Central Government to send the paramilitary force to control the desperate situation in Thoothukudi
