There are a number of movies which release during the festivals. If it is to be Diwali, following sweet, crackers, and new dress, cinema occupies the prime position. But, for the last few years, the movies have been remaining away from Diwali. The reason is that brand new movies are released for Diwali. Also, the reason is that the tickets are being sold at an exorbitant rate. Due to this, for the last few years, people have stayed away from theaters. Also, the number of Diwali releases has reduced. This year, due the entertainment tax and the protest by the producer council, there is prevalent doubt as to whether movies would be released for Diwali. The entertainment tax has been reduced by two percent. Also, regulations have been made on theater rates. So, about three movies are releasing for Diwali.
