When she denied moving out of the house, her in-laws forced her to abort her fetus. As she has two kids, they don’t want her to have the third kid. Shamshad, her husband, even tried to kill the fetus by kicking her forcedly. Shagufta wrote the letter to the PM and sent the copy to the CM of UP, Yogi Adityanath. After her letter to the PM, the issue came to the limelight. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court by All India Muslim Personal Law Board. The Supreme Court transferred the hearing to the Constitutional Law and ordered to solve it once for all. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board stated that Talaq is not common and it is not supported by Islam.
