She is the daughter of veteran actor Sarathkumar. In an interview, Thiru spoke and confirmed the development. He said that she plays the role of a strong and independent girl who does not think twice to face the harsh realities. Also, he added that Varalaxmi was his friend from the very beginning with Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai. She resembles the character that she does in the movie.
