, actor Vijay’s and some other film celebrities’ were frozen. This could be cleared only after banks opened today.
A KDM license is required for any digital film distributor to have a film screened in a theatre. This KDM license is issued by the same firm which offers digital servers for the film. QUBE, a California based firm offers this service to most Tamil films. It appears that for Puli, no distributor has received this KDM license and so all special morning shows in India and premier shows abroad have been cancelled.
Besides, local distributors would want to receive the KDM license themselves before sending it abroad to overseas distributors. The freezing of bank accounts due to IT raids has made it difficult to process payment for the final KDM clearance.
It is reported that Ilayathalapathy Vijay has come to Gemini labs to bring about last minute negotiations for the release of the film as early as possible in the day and at any cost whatsoever.
