Balaji Tharaneetharan stated that the film doesn't have any double meaning dialogues, alcohol drinking scenes or smoking scenes. After a hard fight, they have got U certificate for the movie and the film would be released soon, hopes Balaji Tharaneetharan. Balaji also refuted the rumors that Vijay Sethupathi plays a dual role in Seethakathi. Balaji says that Vijay Sethupathi plays a 75-year-old man named Ayya and the film is not narrated in serious manner, but it is topped up with humor.
