Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a fantasy horror film starring Benjamin Walker Born as Benjamin Walker Davis in the Georgia, a st >> Read More... , Dominic Cooper Dominic Cooper was born on 2nd June 1978 in London >> Read More... and Mary Elizabeth Winsted in main roles.

Plot: The movie opens up with Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin Walker) who is living peacefully with his parents in Indiana. Later, he gets involved in a fight which resulted because his dearest friend William Johnson ( Anthony Mackie The struggle that instantly takes a man to a highe >> Read More... ) was being beaten. Later, as the movie progresses, Abraham’s mother gets attacked by the Barts who are the owners of the plantations where Abraham’s father worked. Events turn hostile and sad for Abraham and his family as his mother is killed by the Barts. Lincoln’s father pleads him to not to seek vengeance for his mother and that he passes the rest of his life peacefully. Years later we see an adult Abraham who decides not to keep his father’s promise and comes to a conclusion that he would put an end to Barts who is later revealed to be a Vampire when Abraham fights with him, as the Vampire is just about to finish him he is rescued by another man namely Henry (Dominic Cooper) but till then Abraham falls unconscious.

Later, when he is out of his unconsciousness, he meets up with Henry and asks his help in defeating the Vampires. Henry trains Abraham and makes him realize his true inner strength. As and as he trains with the help of Henry the stronger and wiser he becomes. Abraham becomes underground working in a grocery store when he crosses paths with his future wife Mary Todd ( Mary Elizabeth Winstead Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a well-known actress, b >> Read More... ) who instantly grows fond of him. Later, Abraham comes to know of the true nature of Henry who is a Vampire; Abraham is shocked and leaves Henry seeing his hideous nature. Later, Henry talks about how he actually became a Vampire; how he once had a wife and how all everything was taken from him including his wife by the evil Vampire Adam (Rufus Sewell) who had converted many to his kind.

Abraham comes to terms with Henry and together with his childhood friend William they wage a war against the Vampires. Adam invites Abraham and for a get together which soon turns into a bloodbath which was a trap set by Adam to get hold of Abraham, but Abraham overpowers them all and leaves with their friends. The rest of the story is How Abraham goes into delusion and later on finally vanquishes and hence wipes off all the Vampires who troubled him and his cherished country.

Analysis: I certainly was taken aback by its title but recovered quickly from it, the movie made me forget the title and focus more on the beauty of it. This movie has some really nice action sequences and the required essence to make you unable to stand and not watch this movie. Screenplay and Cinematography are sketchy and appear to be straight from a comic book. All the main characters have added more brilliance to it.

Star Performances: I don’t know, Dominic Cooper? Oh yeah, even if he is not the main protagonist he is brilliant with his pale skin but not dialogues which shine like anything. Mary looks beautiful and complements Benjamin Walker quite well who goes on well with the show.

What's There?

• Fairytale like story which is quite but violent at times which seems good.

• Sketchy comic book like screenplay which hypnotizes you.

• Brilliant performances from the main characters.

What's Not There?

• The main villain did not enjoy much character exploration.

• The eerie silence in the film seems boring sometimes rather than scary.

Verdict: This movie is not on the “DO NOT WATCH” list at least not in mine, Vampires turning humans into monsters is an age old story but still this movie feels fresh, therefore a worth for the buck.
