Plot

Jared lives with his father, Marshall, and his mother, Nancy. His father is a priest at church. Jared is gay. His mother, Nancy, takes him to a therapy session. In this session, the instructor teaches them how to be a normal person. The instructor is Victor. Victor teaches them how to walk properly, how go be live life as a male or as a female. In short, they are taught them not be a gay. This place makes Jared uncomfortable. Victor even tells them that being gay is a sin and they should pray to god to forgive their sins. Even the things which are teaching are confidential and should not be informed to the outside world. Jared thinks that this place is a waste of time and money. He wanted to move from this place. What will happen to Jared? Will he move from this therapy session, or will he stay there? The rest of the story deals with it.

Star Performance

Lucas Hedges did an incredible performance in the film. His innocence and expression were wonderful. His detailing of the character was outstanding. His acting and dialogue delivery was perfect. One would love him after watching this movie. That much impact he made in the whole film. Nicole Kidman did a fantastic performance in the movie. She shows the nature of a mother. Her appearance as an acceptable mother was excellent. Her acting was factual and natural. Her expression in every single dialogue is outstanding. Joel Edgerton did a remarkable performance in the film. One would hate movie after watching this film. That much impact he made in the film. Russell Crowe, Theodore Pellerin, and Xavier Dolan did a performed remarkably in the movie. All the other actors were as good as the main lead actors.

Analysis

The storyline of the film was great, interesting, and calming —the film focus on the central theme of LGBTQ+. The film is based on Boy Erased: A Memoir by Garrad Conley. The innocent nature of the movie is maintained from the start till the end. The storyline in the film was interesting. The film is based on real-life incidents that happened to Garrard Conley. The film also shows the problems of men or gays being raped. These types of topics are scarce in the modern world. The direction, cinematography, and costume design were perfect in the film. The journey of Jared in his sexuality is demonstrated in the film. The background music and songs play a significant role in the movie. The dialogues were excellent.
