Leaves of the Tree Summary

The movie ‘Leaves of the Tree’ is about a tree which is covered by religious belief and is also celebrated for its medicinal value. The tree helps a lawyer who has a life-endangering disease. The lawyer sets off on a journey to the remote parts of the Sicily to find out the medicinal valueof the tree’s leaves. The tree, that has the special ability to cure illness, mingles the belief, question of doubt and religious faith.

Plot:

The movie Leaves of the Tree is a unique effort and it projects a tree with medicinal value in Sicily. The movie unfolds in Segesta, located in Sicily. The story goes back to 1808. Robbers have injured a man and two men cures him with the leaves of the tree. Then, the movie comes to the present scenario and projects various characters who are interested in making medicines out of the tree’s leaves. A man by name Patrick Messina is suffering from congestive heart failure desires to use the leaves of the tree to cure himself and help other people. Eric Robers has done the role of Patrick Messina. Sean Young Mary Sean Young is an American Actress born in Lou >> Read More... has done the role of Patrick’s spouse, Armand Assante has done the role of Joe Buffa, and Marisa Brown has done the role of Roberta Ryan. KreshNovakovic has done the role of Hank. Hank falls in love with Roberta Ryan in the movie. Priests in the locality also develop interest in medicinal value of the tree. Does the tree have a miraculous healing effect? Would Patrick Messina be cured of his heart problem? The movie answers all these questions.

Analysis:

There are too many characters in the movie. This is one drawback of thefilm. But, at the same time, one feels bound to every character in the movie. The character Robert Messina does not come throughout the movie. There are many places in the movie where the character in the movie is totally absent. This causes one to lose interest in the climax where Robert Messina is cured of his problem.

Star Performances:

The movie’s cast does a very good job of pinning the audiences to their seats. Sean Young has done the role of Sweetness, who is Messina’s wife. She has done her role commendably. There are other characters in the movie as Marisa Brown, Federico Castellucio and KreshNovakovic who have done their roles in a commendable manner.

What is there?

The actors in the movie have done a good job, and made the audience stick to their seats.

The story is intriguing and creates an interest among the audiences.

What is not there?

There are too many characters in the movie which makes it a bit droning.

The character Robert Messina in the movie is missing in many parts of the movie.

The climax could have been more interesting.

Verdict: The movie has the ability to attract audiences to the theater, and promotes the tourism to Sicily for its leaves with medicinal value.
