Plot

Sophie Sheridan with her three potential fathers learns more about her mother Donna Sheridan’s history, who passed away recently. Knowing her mother’s passion and dreams, Sophie decides to fulfill them and make her deceased mother happy. With this purpose in mind, Sophie renovates the family restaurant and tries to increase its reach. The remainder of the story addresses this aspect.

Star performance

Amanda Seyfried (who played the role of Sophie) has done an excellent role in this movie. Her acting was so elegant. Lily (who played the role of the mother) was a bright and confident role and has done it perfectly. Choosing Lily and Amanda as mother and daughter was accurate, appearance-wise. Jessica and Alexa have engagingly portrayed their roles. Jeremy Irvine’s body language and acting were incredible for the assigned role. The direction and screenplay by Ol Parker are just mind-blowing. Editing by Peter Lambert is very efficient. The music in the movie was enjoyable and the choreography was beautiful. The art director has done an aesthetically pleasing job.

Analysis

This is a musical, romantic, and humorous film. It is directed with clear-cut planning in mind. In the sequences where Amanda’s past and Sophie’s present are shown one after the other, the director and the editor have beautifully and creatively merged the shifts. These scenes will leave the audience amazed. Undebatably, all the members involved in the film have worked hard to bring the movie to success. All of the cast have played their assigned roles to the fullest. Throughout the movie, there are scenes of lush greenery that guarantee to soothe the eyes and hearts of the viewers. The musical elements brought in this movie make us think and reflect in a very melodic way. The characters in the movie are allowed to experiment with their wild dancing skills. It teaches the audience that our life is short and should be utilized to chase our dreams and passion. We can see many emotions throughout the movie. It takes us on a journey through independence, resilience, optimism, dedication, and many more values that can be incorporated into our day-to-day lives. Mainly the movie teaches us to look into nature and live a mindful life. At this age of short-lived human relationships and friendships, the importance of friendships that last long and stay forever is portrayed throughout the movie. Overall, this movie ensures to leave you with values.
