Plot: Inspired by the real life situation of Gianna Jessen, October baby is a film about a beautiful girl Hannah, who survives after her biological mother attempts to abort her. Later, when she is a young adult, she suffers depression and anxiety. Hannah learns that she was an adopted child and her real mother tried to kill her before she was even born. She then decides to go on a road trip, thus the movie revolves around this scenario.

Directed by Andrew Erwin and Jon Erwin, October baby is a meaningful movie. Starring Rachel Hendrix as Hannah, Jason Burkey as Jason and John Schneider as Hannah's father. The actors have done a brilliant job and each character has important roles in the plot. The movie has mature thematic material with the tagline, “Every life is beautiful” which summarizes the whole story. The distracting part of the movie is the road trip, which is not helpful to the plot and somehow diverges the film from its track.

The film has been promoted as a Christian-themed movie, but somehow the subplots like the trip demean it. Despite these flaws, the movie got people’s attention, especially the Christian audience liked it. It talks about abortion, which is a topic no moviemaker tries to work on. It is not just about abortion but also family relations, human feelings and the reality of the life. Overall, the movie has better actors and good cinematography.

Verdict: The story could have been more impactful without the romance and the trip. It is a blend of good and bad, and most importantly delivers a powerful message; it engages the audience emotionally and deserves to be watched at least once.
