Plot
The film begins with a scene showing Nazi war criminal Andre Toulon who escaped prison trying to flirt with a bartender but fails as he learns that she is a lesbian. The same night he commands his puppets to kill the homosexual bartender and her partner. That day, he is shot dead by a police officer who found his hideout. The film follows Edgar Easton, played by Thomas Lennon, who moved back in with his parents after his divorce. In the house, he finds the puppet his deceased younger brother was fond of. He comes to know that the puppet is based on a design by Toulon and would fetch a good amount. He embarks on a trip to the auction event to sell the puppet. He is accompanied by his childhood crush, Ashley, played by Jenny Pellicer, and his friend Markowitz, played by Nelson Franklin. While they stay at the Brass Buckle Hotel, where the auction will be held, strange things start happening such as weird phone calls and the puppet moving on its own. Edgar’s puppet, accompanied by countless other puppets, wreaks havoc in the hotel and murder several guests and hotel staff. Edgar observes that the puppets only kill Jews, homosexuals, and people of color. The film follows Edgar, Markowitz, and Ashley as they try to survive the killer puppets and find a solution to stop Toulon’s puppets’ uprising.
Star Performance
The star cast performs well in consideration of the weak plot and disappointing screenplay. The characters are one-dimensional and under-developed.
