Plot: This is the story of how a young spaceship mechanic Ratchet (James Arnold Taylor) and a defective, all-brains-no-brawn robot Clank (David Kaye) go about trying to save their Solana galaxy. They first meet quite accidently on Ratchet's planet Veldin, when Clank's spaceship crash-lands on it.

Analysis: Ratchet And Clank is a Saturday morning kind of cartoon - very light, relaxed, and colorful. For kids, it's a great movie, especially because of the lessons of humility, friendship, and teamwork that it teaches. The animation isn't the best when you compare it to studios like Pixar, but it's still pretty good and works well enough.

The film's initial charm is lost due to its repetitive scenes and not a up-to-the-mark script. Even if nothing else makes you want to watch it, you should go for it just to see the great ending. Overall, it is an enjoyable movie; but also easily forgettable.

'Ratchet & Clank' Series creators Insomniac Games have played a role in the film's screenplay, animation, character development and production. The movie was directed by Jericca Cleland and Kevin Munroe. The story was written by T.J. Fixman, Gerry Swallow, and Kevin Munroe. Cinematography credits are given to Anthony Di Ninno.

What's there?

1. It gives a feeling of nostalgia to all those who enjoyed the video game.

2. All the voice actors have done a commendable job and give the movie good standard.

3. The script is not bad.

4. The animation is quite standard.

What's not there?

1. The jokes aren't very funny.

2. Sarcasm is overdone. Initially, it might be funny. But it gets to be too much too soon.

3. Characters can be unlikable sometimes.

4. Strange logic at certain points but you learn just to ignore it.

5. We aren't given backstory to the villain. We have no idea why he chose to do what he does. This gives the movie less depth.

Verdict: The movie is targeted at a younger audience, but could please an older audience on one of their blue days. However, A must watch if you like the video game the movie is based on.
