Plot

The film’s protagonist is Moondog, played by Matthew McConaughey, a poet who lives like a nomad in the Florida Keys, indulging in drugs and other pleasures. He is financially supported by his well-off wife Minnie, played by Isla Fisher. Moondog has numerous sexual relationships while Minnie has a sexual relationship with Moondog’s friend Lingerie, played by Snoop Dogg. At his daughter Heather’s wedding; Moondog sees Minnie and Lingerie kissing and runs away. Minnie finds him at a bar, and they drink and have fun. That night, they have a car accident in which Minnie dies. Moondog finds out that his portion of Minnie’s estate was frozen till he finished writing his book. The film follows Moondog’s adventures as he struggles without money and has new experiences along the way.

Star Performance

Matthew McConaughey gives a stellar performance as Moondog, the beach bum. He perfectly embodies Moondog’s carefree attitude. Isla Fisher and Snoop Dogg also deliver good performances.

Analysis

The film has good cinematography and perfectly chosen background scores. The camera work is top notch and perfectly captures Florida’s natural beauty. The film has an entertaining and unique concept.
