Plot:

Anna Dhuri narrates to his girlfriend the reason why he wants to live only in Parel. In the mid-1980s, Anna spends most of the time writing plays. However, his life takes a turn when his sister, Manju, who has relations with a grocer’s boy called Jignesh, gets pregnant. Giri, Anna’s father, is paralyzed from shock. Then, his brother, Mohan, gets arrested by the police for embezzling Rs. 25000. However, Anna releases him soon on bail. Then, they find Jignesh, but it is revealed that he is married to someone else. So, they force Manju to marry Arvind Rane Bio coming soon... >> Read More... , who is a Union Leader. The problems yet not solved. The mill owner postpones the payment and burns down the premises. Giri passes away. Anna feeds himself, and his family faces lots of problems. The story is based on the consequences of the atrocities towards the mill workers, which is completely ignored by the Government. It shows the politics of greed in Mumbai and the rights of the mill worker, which is controlled by the trade union leaders. In just two decades, the entire landscape of the Mumbai is changed. Thousands of workers lose their livelihood.

Analysis:

The movie shows the painful reality of thousands of mill workers, who work in cotton mills. Today, no one knows the reality of these mill workers, who work all seven days in a week and establish the biggest malls, bars, and clubs of the city. The workers strike in the mid-1980s, and suddenly, all workers disappear. The story narrates the life of one such family and how crime is increased by these dilemmas. It is the story of long-forgotten masses, that plays a pivotal role, establishing the big buildings in a city like Mumbai, but no one knows about them.

Verdict:

This movie does an effective job in establishing the dilemmas of mill workers. It is definitely a one-time watch.
