The funny satire ends when Neelanand Baba getting exposed in front of the public leaving Paresh Rawal to deliver a powerful message to the viewers.
Analysis: You don’t find anything original in the movie if it is an official remake, no matter how much effort is put into it. The movie has less to offer to those who don’t want to know the differences between Hinduism and Islam.
Star Performances: Paresh Rawal was at his best in Dharam Sankat Mein. He carries the film on his shoulders. Annu Kapoor also played a fine role and supported Paresh Rawal at every instant. Naseeruddin Shah played a little cameo and didn’t have much of a role. On the whole, this strong star cast wasn’t able to deliver as it was expected.
What’s there? It has a lot of confusion going on in choosing a religion, a topic hard to find in any other movie. It has bits of humour with the delight of Paresh Rawal and the other perfectly taken cast. It also has a story (though copied).
What’s not there? It doesn’t have to offer anything if you are not interested in watching Oh My God again.
Verdict: The movie could have been better by improving the direction part. The first half was entertaining, but the latter half lacked pace. Paresh Rawal’s brilliant efforts and a strong message at the end makes Dharam Sankat Mein a one-time watch.
