ANALYSIS:

Since this story is about the Indian law system, Akshaye Khanna’s role is of an ‘AamAdmi’. Playing the role of Hanuman, part time, in the local Ramleela, Bharat’s dream is to play the role of Lord Ram. He works full time as a cashier at the bank and is married to Nisha, a school teacher, who is concerned about his promotion to a manager’s post. Bharat’s family includes his father, an old school soul, whose only dream is to see the country corruption free. Bharat and Nisha are a fun loving pair, but Nisha always doubts Bharat for his loyalty. The guest house in his house was rented by Amita, played by MugdhaGodse. Amita is always looking to take a ride to office on Bharat’s scooter as she wants to save money. Although Nisha is a bit unhappy about this, the bigger fight is about Bharat’s concentration on graduating in Ramleela instead of his office work. Bharat’s rival is SattuTripathi, the brother of local MLA, who plays the role of Lord Ram and badly at that. Even the MLA has a problem with Bharat as he refuses to rent out a room for his election campaign. Adding to all his problems, Bharat is dragged to court by a local cop telling him about a theft, which he is not aware of, but the police officer has a sole but false witness in BachhuGulukand. This is where the funny part of the movie comes as Bharat is caught between corrupt judges, police officers and the officials who are always ready to take a bribe. From all these experiences, Bharat learns that life for a common man is tough to live. He decides to fight for the ‘AamAadmi’. This makes him popular as he is trending on news channels after exposing all the corruption in all the lanes. The film received a lot negative criticism but was labelled average for its earning of 57.7 crores.

VERDICT:

You can watch this 2.5 starred movie with your family for the rare moments of hilarity that is available but it will bore you at some point.
