This is a movie of two great leaders, who made the history of their countries. It deals with the two leaders of the same era, their clashes of ideology, and their struggle in life. It’s a story of the dark side of history.

Plot

The movie plot is of World War 2 era. The story revolves around the life of Hitler, who is stuck in Berlin with his mistress, Eva Braun, and closest generals. An Indian soldier, who had supported the Germans, is now traveling to India. The movie also centers upon the letters from Gandhi to Hitler. The movie, though, does not tell us if Hitler read them. The romantic relationship between Hitler and Eva Braun is being shown in the film. The movie also tells about Gandhism and Nazism.

Star performances

The casting seems to be completely miscast. The only actor out of the rest, who seemed to be pretty good is Neha Dhupia Neha Dhupia is a Bollywood actress who began her c >> Read More... , who played the role of Eva Braun very well. Actors like Neha Dhupia, Raghuvir Yadav, and Aman Verma Aman Verma was born on 11th October 1971. He was b >> Read More... are only somewhat recognizable stars in the movie. They aren’t the names that would attract a large number of audience and after their acting in the movie, it won’t attract many audiences.

Analysis

Gandhi is mentioned in the film’s title, but Gandhi throughout the movie remains a side role. What is seen in the movie is that there is no real connection between Hitler and Gandhi. Gandhi is only being seen marching in the fields and mouthing about nationalism and non-violence. The only links between the two leaders are being shown via the letters that are written by Gandhi to Hitler, with no idea whether Hitler read them or not. It was like a forced attempt to bring Hitler and Gandhi both in one frame.

What’s there?

If you try hard to find something to appreciate in the film, then it would be that ‘Even the worst of the human kind is indeed good, and that something forced him to be worse.’ But if I see it way too positively than this movie is a remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi and his preaching. The movie tells us about his struggle of life, cry for humanity and love for the nation.

What’s not there?

  • Probably everything went wrong. This kind of title ‘GANDHI TO HITLER’ would never attract the audience of the younger generation.
  • In the movie, Hitler speaks Hindi that can make you laugh. On top of that, the movie is set in India.
  • Other than the bad editing and some irrelevant scenes, it is also among one of the not so well-written films.

Verdict

The movie is like a documentary about some preaching of Gandhi along with some abrupt acting and improper storyline.
