Hrithik, as the protagonist, Ethan Mascarenhas, and Aishwarya Rai as his pair, Sofia D’Souza, have done some miracle performances.

Plot:

Ethan Mascarenhas, a quadriplegic magician and a radio jockey, had been paralyzed and is being nursed by his nurse, Sofia D’Souza, for the past twelve years.

On the occasion of his 14th anniversary after his accident, Ethan decides to file an appeal in court for euthanasia (mercy killing) with the support of his mother, Isabel Mascarenhas and his friend, Devyani Dutta, who is also a lawyer.

The judge dismisses the case immediately since it is against the law in India. So Devyani asks Ethan to gain support from the public on this issue through the radio. A young enthusiast in magic, Omar Siddiqui, enters Ethan’s life to learn from him.

The issues gain fame with the help of television media support, and he submits an appeal once again. Meanwhile, his mother passes away, and Sofia’s husband separates her from Ethan.

Ethan is alone, and the verdict was against him. Disheartened, he spends time by himself. When Sofia returns to him and expresses her love towards him, she also tells him that she would never leave him in life nor with his decision of mercy-killing.

Ethan invites his dearest friends and family members to bid farewell, and tells them that he would die a happy man as his love, Sofia, is in love and support of him.

Analysis:

The story is uncomplicated, yet captivates the attention of the audience with its romance. Though the screenplay is a little slow, the movie with the direction of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is more than watchable.

Star Performances:

Hrithik Roshan, as a paralyzed person, has taken his acting to a next level. Aishwarya Rai, also known for her tremendous acting capability, has never put down anyone’s hopes.

What’s there?

The acting performances of the lead actors and actresses are unbelievable and watchable. The choreography, similar to the movie “ Black 'Black’ was a paranormal show aired on 9X Chan >> Read More... ”, is more suited for this film.

What’s not there?

Sometimes the movies turn out to be gloomier that it has to be. Some unnecessary characters in “Guzaarish” make the respective parts of the movie uninteresting.

Verdict:

The movie with the best pair in Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai, and with the direction of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is always a feast for your eyes.
