A movie applauded by many critics due to an interesting plot. A story that deals with politics over land acquisition and how a group of goons from the village tries to get involved in the matter related to their village going against the wishes of their villagers and their own conscience.

Plot: Rajbir( Parvin Dabas Parvin Dabas is an Indian actor. He is also named >> Read More... ) along with his friends Sexy ( Vansh Bharadwaj Vansh Bharadwaj is a prolific actor in Bollywood w >> Read More... ), Ambani ( Ashish Nayyar Ashish Nayyar is also a very brilliant addition in >> Read More... ) and Doctor ( Kuldeep Ruhil Kuldip Ruhil works predominantly in the Indian fil >> Read More... ) are the gang who works for Fauiji ( Sharat Saxena Sharat Saxena was born on 17th August 1950 in Satn >> Read More... ), who used to work as a security guard at Bank and had a failed attempt to loot his working place turns into a gangster. The movie is set around the village of Kanjhawala in outskirts of Delhi. The CM of the area, Jaya Gulati( Kiran Juneja Kiran Juneja or Kiran Joneja is a renowned Indian >> Read More... ) who wants to pass a legislation for land acquisition of the villages at a very low price, the move is proposed and enforced by a devious businessman Aggarwal( Anupam Kher Anupam Kher is a very popular actor, director, and >> Read More... ), who wants to set up industries in the concerned village. The legislation leads to a huge agitation by the villagers and to suppress the agitation, Jaya Gulati unofficially gives a consignment to Fauiji, to stop the villagers so that they can pass the legislation and help Aggarwal make dubious amount of money. Fauji handover the responsibility of the task to Rajbir but Rajbir suddenly realizes that it is his own village. Soon he plays a double game in order to help out his villagers who had rejected any support from Rajbir and his friends due to their criminal links and previous records, and also to acquire some money by kidnapping CM’s son Hitu. Fauji stands to benefit most from this whole scenario and also realizes his desire to become a politician. The gang tries to keep hold of the kid so that they can manage to acquire some money as well as help out the activists.

Analysis: The issue of land acquisition has been ever present in the Indian politics and has become a hotly debated issue, and the movie tries to showcase the farmers plea and how industrial powers lobby for implementation of policies to benefit themselves. The movie has been critically acclaimed but nonetheless it fails to live up to the cause. Pravin Dabas, who has done so many great movies as an actor, has been able to put his thoughts right in his debut directorial venture the film starts off at a very slow pace and gets off the track after one point. Performances Pravin Dabas justifies himself in the lead role assigned to him by himself(director), his three brothers in arms ably support him but have only a small bit of characterization without any substantial background. Just, as usual, Sharat Saxena and Anupam Kher give their best, the role of raging CM is justified by Kiran Juneja. Apart from these main characters film also features Yashpal Sharma Neena Kulkarni, Udit Khurana and Tena Desae.

What’s there: The film presents a very vivid background of North India rather than the usual backgrounds that we have seen over the years in movies. The comedy that’s involved makes it a bit interesting. The characters mostly justify their role, most of whom have been involved in many other dark humor movies. The film takes up the issue of land grabbing and empathizes with the farmers’ plight.

What’s not there: With such an interesting storyline the movie could have been more firm and smooth. The writing leaves a lot to desire for. Being a comedy drama the movie is not that much funny as it could have been.

Verdict:  A directorial debut the film promises a lot and is a decent entertainer. The story of the film has a soul to it and would be applauded by people who have appreciated movies like Khosla Ka Ghosla, Bhejafry, etc.
