Mastkalandar is scripted and directed by Rajkumar Aditthyaa. Chandru SL is the producer and the film has the star cast of Arohi Narayan, Swaroopini Narayan, KS Shridhar and Nitin MC.
Plot
Ravi, who is brought up by his father is a happy-go-lucky guy. He falls in love with Shashi. Shashi is an ardent fan of Ravichandran, the Crazy Star. Although Ravi tries to impress Shashi, she couldn’t accept his proposal. Shashi comes to know that Ravi is doing all the tricks to impress her. When Sasi’s family is in trouble, Ravi helps her without her knowledge. Ravi joins a firm as a security guard and later resigns it to find a better job. When Shashi tells her mother about Ravi, she rejects it and informs her daughter about a doctor, who she had chosen for her. So, Shashi couldn’t accept Ravi’s love. What happens next? and Sridhar had done justice to their roles. Nitin’s dialogues are good.
Analysis
Rajkumar’s script is not unique and it is just like the old wine in a new bottle. The scenes are predictable and there are no twists and turns too. So, there is no great impact after watching the story. However, the dialogues are impressive.

The film would have been good if it had released a couple of decades ago. With an age-old script, the director tried to impress the audiences. But, he had succeeded partially. If you are a fan of breezy love stories of early 90’s, then this is for you.
