Pirangipura is a 2021 Kannada action film written, directed, and produced by Janardhana P Johnny. The film’s cinematography by Jaikrishna. The film's music composition was done by Shyam L Raj. The lead role of the film was played by Ranna, Sugar, Sachri Vijay, and a supporting role from Ganavi. The film was produced by Priswes Studios.

Plot

Analysis

Pirangipura is a highly ambitious project. Its tag as a psychological thriller and action film means that it has a lot to live up to. And with its premise, it does. It is also a great look at how much Indian cinema has progressed and how Indian cinema looks at posthumously releasing films after an actor has passed. Moreover, the director does everything in his ability with all his resources to make sure the movie stands out and lives up to Sanchari Vijay’s vision. The film also makes use of its setting to the best of its ability. The film is mainly set in Rajasthan, where the fictional location of Pirangipura is set. It gives us a beautiful look into how a director can use location to enhance a film and make it an integral part of the story.

Verdict

 It is an interesting watch. If there is a reason to watch this film, the special effects and the circumstances surrounding it are reasons to go check it out. But even without the circumstances surrounding the film, it is an interesting look into what the psychological genre has to offer within South Indian films. There is a lot to look forward to with the film, which makes it so exciting.
