Raghuveera is a new Kannada language film, which has been released in February 2018. It is directed by Surya Satish and stars Harsha and Dhenu in lead roles.

Plot

The plot of Raghuveera is based on a true incident which took place in 2011 and was very cruel and shocking to an extreme level. Raghu and Anusha secretly got married in Dharamshala, but the girl’s brother later laid a honey trap convincing them to come back and then brainwashed Anusha to marry another man. Sadly, it did not end here, he called Raghu to Anusha’s new wedding and then plucked out his eyes with the help of his friends.

Analysis

The film beautifully portrays the story of Raghu and Anusha, and the story keeps the audience gripped throughout the film. The fact that the script is based on a true story makes the audience even more curious to see how the events unfold.

Swami Nathan as Anusha’s brother carries that perfect arrogance and pride, and we hate him from the moment his character gets introduced. Especially Harsha has done an awesome job portraying Raghu. He has perfectly managed to bring out his innocence and purity in love. You feel happy when Harsha on screen falls in love, and you get heartbroken when he is ditched. Harsha is an actor who truly gets into the skin of the character he portrays.

What’s there?

• The movie is well-written, well directed and well performed by the actors.

• This movie has the capability to make you feel every emotion, be it love, pride, arrogance, cheating, or hatred you would feel everything by the time this film ends.

What’s not there?

• The film is realistic and made very well and there is hardly anything which is lacking in this movie.

• Still, if I were to point out, the editing department could have done better, but the film is beautifully enacted and shot and makes up for it.

Verdict

This movie brings to the forefront the inhuman side of the society which we tend to ignore. We all wish someday people realize that their lies no honor in doing such gruesome acts just to save your pride. This movie is a must watch.
