Plot
This is a story where one of the reforms brought in by a newly appointed collector brings extreme thrill to the lives of Diwanji Moola’s people. A decade ago people of Diwanji Moola used to display their togetherness at the bike racing track supporting their favorite racers. The IAS officer digs out this tradition to reunite the townspeople. The rest of the story deals with this.
Star performance
The movie’s soul lies in Nyla Usha’s acting - her Thrissur slang and natural acting are fascinating to watch. There were tears of laughter moments with Vinayakan, Sidhique, and Hareesh Kanaran. Vinayakan’s acting is sparkling to watch. Kunchako Boban has acted magnificently. All the other cast have given justice to their roles. Editing was done efficiently. Gopi Sundar has composed beautiful songs for this film. The Cinematography is good.
Analysis
Diwanji Moola Grand Prix is a lighter movie of Anil Radhakrishnan compared to his other movies. The people of Diwanji Moola, a place in the Thrissur district of Kerala, are really into bike racing. A newly appointed IAS officer builds up a platform for bike racing for them.  The Director takes the audience back and forth on the timeline to explain the past behind every present situation. The editor has managed the scenes very well, especially the shifts. Racing scenes are brilliantly captured by the cinematographer. Gopi Sundar’s music behind this scene brings in the spirit of the race.
The first half of the movie moves at a very slow pace. Every character is introduced one by one and this adds up to the lag. The narration in the film takes the focus away from the plot. The roles of Vinayakan (race coach-turned-preacher) and Nedumudi Venu (mechanic) take the second half in a different direction filled with entertainment and hilarious moments. Nyla Usha’s assigned role was perfect and she has shown justice to the character thoroughly. Kunchako Boban has a minor role in this movie. The climax is predictable and it could have been better.
This movie has many emotions involved; humor, thrill, and sportsmanship. Anil Radhakrishnan has portrayed the culture and tradition of Thrissur very well through this movie. It has many subtle moments that describe the father-daughter relationship and selfless friendship.
Through this movie, Anil Radhakrishnan has tried to bring specific social issues to the forefront. One of them is the false promising culture of politicians as a part of their election campaigns and their inability to fulfill any of them. He has also thrown some light on the importance of cherishing and valuing the traditions and cultures of a place. Every tradition has emotions attached to it and replacing them with newer trends will not only kill joy but also alienates a generation. This idea is indirectly conveyed through the movie. Public gatherings and celebrations unite the people and bind the society. This is also why such topics remain sensitive to handle. But Anil Radhakrishnan has made an excellent attempt to convey a good message through the movie without triggering anyone’s sentiments.

Verdict
Diwanji Moola Grand Prix is a feel-good comedy and sports entertainment. It can be watched without much expectation by family and friends. It is a one-time watch, a good time-pass movie.
